SOCAN TARIFF 13.B – PUBLIC CONVEYANCES - PASSENGER SHIPS (2023-2025)
Royalties For the performance and the communication to the public by telecommunication in a passenger ship, by means of recorded music, at any time and as often as desired in the years 2023 to 2025, of any or all of the works in SOCAN’s repertoire, the royalty payable for each passenger ship is as follows:
$1.32 per person per year, based on the authorized pas
senger capacity of the ship, subject to a minimum annual royalty of $78.75.
For passenger ships operating for less than 12 months in each year, the royalty payable shall be reduced by one twelfth for each full month during the year in which no operations occur.

TARIF 13.B DE LA SOCAN – TRANSPORTS EN COMMUN - NAVIRES À PASSAGERS (2023-2025)
Redevances Pour l’exécution et la communication au public par télé-communication à bord d’un navire à passagers, au moyen de musique enregistrée, en tout temps et aussi souvent que désiré pendant les années 2023 à 2025, de l’une ou de la totalité des œuvres faisant partie du répertoire de la SOCAN, la redevance exigible pour chaque navire s’établit comme suit :
1,32 $ par personne par année, en se fondant sur le nombre maximum de passagers autorisé par navire, sous réserve d’une redevance annuelle minimale de 78,75 $.
Pour les navires exploités moins de 12 mois par année, la redevance exigible est réduite d’un douzième pour chaque mois complet de non-exploitation.
2023-11-04 Supplement to the Canada Gazette Terms and Conditions On or before January 31 of the year covered by the tariff, the user shall report the authorized passenger capacity and pay the applicable royalty to SOCAN.
SOCAN shall have the right to audit the user’s books and records, on reasonable notice and during normal business hours, to verify the statements rendered and the royalty payable by the user.
Any amount not received by the due date shall bear inter- est from that date until the date the amount is received. Interest shall be calculated daily, at a rate equal to 1% above the Bank Rate effective on the last day of the previ- ous month (as published by the Bank of Canada). Interest shall not compound.
All amounts payable under this tariff are exclusive of any federal, provincial or other governmental taxes or levies of any kind.
Supplément de la Gazette du Canada 2 Modalités Au plus tard le 31 janvier de l’année visée par le tarif, l’uti-lisateur fournit un rapport du nombre maximum de pas-sagers autorisé et verse à la SOCAN la redevance exigible.
La SOCAN a le droit de vérifier les livres et registres de l’utilisateur durant les heures normales de bureau, moyennant un préavis raisonnable, afin de confirmer les rapports soumis par l’utilisateur et la redevance exigible de ce dernier.
Tout montant impayé à son échéance porte intérêt à compter de la date à laquelle il aurait dû être acquitté jusqu’à la date où il est reçu. L’intérêt est calculé quotidiennement, à un taux de 1 % au-dessus du taux officiel d’escompte en vigueur le dernier jour du mois précédent (tel qu’il est publié par la Banque du Canada). L’intérêt n’est pas composé.
Les montants exigibles indiqués dans le présent tarif ne comprennent ni les taxes fédérales, provinciales ou autres, ni les prélèvements d’autre genre qui pourraient s’appliquer.
