interim tariff for the retransmission of distant television and radio signals, 2014-2018
Reasons for decision
[1] At the request of the television collective societies (Border Broadcasters, Inc. (BBI); Canadian Broadcasters Rights Agency (CBRA); Copyright Collective of Canada (CCC); Canadian Retransmission Collective (CRC); Canadian Retransmission Right Association (CRRA); Direct Response Television Collective Inc. (DRTVC); FWS Joint Sports Claimants Inc. (FWS); Major League Baseball Collective of Canada, Inc. (MLB); Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN)), the radio collective societies (CBRA, CRRA, SOCAN) and the Objectors,

and subject to the following changes, the Board extends, on an interim basis, the application of the Television Retransmission Tariff, 2009-2013 and of the Radio Retransmission Tariff, 2009-2013. These tariffs will remain in force, unless modified, until the final tariffs are certified for the years 2014 to 2018.
[2] In the full title of both tariffs, the word “Interim” is added before “Royalties” and “2014 to 2018” are substituted for “2009 to 2013”.
[3] Section 1 of the television tariff shall now read Interim Television Retransmission Tariff, 2014-2018. Section 1 of the radio tariff shall now read Interim Radio Retransmission Tariff, 2014-2018.
[4] The table in Section 8 of the television is replaced by the following:

[5] In section 27, “2024” is substituted for “2019”.
[6] Sections 34 to 37 of the television tariff are eliminated. These transitional provisions are unnecessary in the interim tariff.
