RULING OF THE BOARD

 

File: SOCAN Tariff 6 - Motion Picture Theatres for the years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020-2021 and 2022-2024

May 16, 2022

 

[1] Pursuant to Board Order [CB-CDA 2022-10], both SOCAN and the remaining Objector, Movie Theatre Association of Canada (MTAC), provided submissions to the Board in preparation for the Board initiating a hearing for this tariff proceeding.

[2] Since these submissions were filed, SOCAN and MTAC have begun to explore a possible resolution of the issues between them.

[3] Therefore, SOCAN and MTAC jointly request that the Board’s process be suspended for three months to allow time for discussions to take place.

[4] The request is granted.

[5] The parties will report back to the Board by August 15, 2022.

[6] Any further extension request, if any, will be assessed on its merits.
