RULING OF THE BOARD

 

Proceeding: Online Music Video Services (2014-2018)

September 19, 2024

 

[1] On September 12, 2024, Stingray and SOCAN requested, for the purposes of negotiation, a two-month extension to the deadline for SOCAN to file its Case Record. This deadline is currently on October 9, 2024.

[2] In order to preserve the momentum gained in this case over the past 6 months, I grant the parties a one-month extension.

[3] Consequently, the Schedule of Proceedings, as set-out in Ruling 2024-062, Annex A, is amended by postponing each of the deadlines therein by one calendar month—with the application of Rule 5 of the Copyright Board Rules of Practice and Procedure as necessary.

[4] This moves the deadline for SOCAN to file its Case Record to November 9, 2024.

[5] If—prior to that date—SOCAN and Stingray inform me that they have reached an agreement, I will suspend the Schedule, and convene a Case Management Conference to determine the appropriate procedural steps in this proceeding.
