ORDER OF THE BOARD

 

Proceeding: SOCAN Tariff 18 – Recorded Music for Dancing (2023-2025)

December 6, 2024

 

I. OVERVIEW

[1] Following Order CB-CDA 2024-083, in which the Board pre-identified the issues to be considered in this proceeding, the Parties provided separate responses.

[2] Both responses confirmed that the issues are as follows:

1) Should the royalty rate be adjusted to take account of general inflation?

2) What methodology, if any, should be used to adjust for inflation?

II. SCHEDULE OF PROCEEDING

[3] The Board requests that the parties provide a joint schedule of proceeding.

[4] For convenience, a draft schedule of proceeding is provided below. Parties may add steps or modify it as needed. Parties are also asked to propose dates for each step.

III. ORDER

[5] Parties shall file their proposed schedule of proceeding by Friday, December 20, 2024.

[6] If Parties are not able to file a joint proposal, any comment in response to the information provided by another party must be submitted by Friday, January 10, 2025.
