Non-exclusive licence issued to The Friends of the North Vancouver Museum & Archives Society, Vancouver, B.C. for the reproduction of a postcard in a picture book

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board grants a licence to The Friends of the North Vancouver Museum & Archives Society as follows:

(1) The licence authorizes the reproduction of a postcard labelled “The Ship of the Seven Seas” produced by the Ronald Huck Agency and printed by Lawson Graphics Pacific Ltd. (year of publication unknown) in a picture book produced by the licensee.

No more than 10,000 copies of the picture book shall be reproduced.

(2) The licence expires on December 31, 2014. The authorized reproduction must therefore be completed by that date.

(3) The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. For other countries, it is the law of that country that applies.

(4) The issuance of the licence does not release the licensee from the obligation to obtain permission for any other use not covered by this licence.

(5) The licensee shall ensure that the following credit is prominently displayed in all copies of the picture books:

“Reproduced under a non-exclusive licence issued by the Copyright Board of Canada in co-operation with the Canadian Artists' Representation Copyright Collective.”

(6) The licensee will pay the sum of $125 to the Canadian Artists' Representation Copyright Collective (CARCC) who will dispose of the amount as it sees fit for the general benefit of its members. CARCC undertakes, however, to reimburse any person who establishes within five years from the expiry of the licence, ownership of the work covered by this licence.

(7) The coming into force of this licence is conditional on CARCC filing with the Board its undertaking to comply with the conditions set out in paragraph (6) above.
