Non-exclusive licence issued to Kathleen W. Hansen, Courtenay, B.C., authorizing the adaptation, mechanical reproduction and communication to the public by telecommunication of a 36-second excerpt of a song

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board grants a licence to Kathleen W. Hansen, as follows:

(1) The licence authorizes the adaptation and mechanical reproduction of a 36 -second excerpt of the song entitled "Vancouver Calls Me" written by William Templeton and published by The Vancouver Summer Entertainment Council in 1940.

No more than 50 CDs of the work will be reproduced.

The licence also authorizes that the sound recording be aired no more than ten times on each of the following television and radio stations: CTV and CBC television stations in Vancouver, Courtenay's local radio station CKLR 97.3 FM.

The issuance of the licence does not release the licensee from the obligation to obtain permission for any other use not covered by this licence.

(2) The licence expires on March 31, 2010.

(3) The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. For other countries, it is the law of that country that applies.

(4) The licensee will pay the sum of $25 to any person who establishes, before March 31, 2015 ownership of the copyright in the work covered in this licence.

(5) The coming into force of this licence is conditional on the licensee filing with the Board her undertaking to comply with the conditions set out in paragraph (4) above.
