Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board issues a licence to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as follows:

(1) The licence authorizes the adaptation and the production of the theatrical work K-2 by Patrick Meyers.

The licence also authorizes the public performance or communication to the public by telecommunication of the work so adapted, in the Canadian French-language market of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, specifically two broadcasts on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s French-language channel and one broadcast on Réseau des Arts.

(2) The licence is for five years and expires on December 31, 2003. (3) The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. (4) The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation will pay US$3000 to the Société des auteurs et compositeurs dramatiques (SACD), which may dispose of the amount as it sees fit for the general benefit of its members. The SACD undertakes, however, to reimburse any person who establishes, before December 31, 2008, ownership of the copyright in the work covered by this licence.

(5) The coming into force of this licence is conditional on the SACD filing with the Board of a receipt for the amount of the licence, accompanied by an undertaking by the SACD to comply with the conditions set out in paragraph (4) above.
