Copyright Board Commission du droit d’auteur Canada Canada Ottawa, November 29, 2019 FILE: 2019-UO/TI-19 UNLOCATABLE COPYRIGHT OWNER Non-exclusive licence issued to the Government of Canada, as represented by the Department of Canadian Heritage, Gatineau, Quebec, authorizing the reproduction and exhibition in public of an artistic work

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board grants a licence to the Government of Canada, as represented by the Department of Canadian Heritage, as follows:

(1) The licence authorizes the reproduction and exhibition in public of a photograph, by Lloyd Harold Bloom, of Dr. Elizabeth Bagshaw (item #16769 of Library and Archives Canada's Federation of Medical Women of Canada fonds) in the context of Canadian Heritage's public exhibit "A Greater Sisterhood: The Women's Rights Struggle in Canada", in Ottawa.

The licence is granted to the extent that the photograph is protected by copyright. The issuance of the licence does not release the licensee from the obligation to obtain permission for any other use not covered by this licence.

(2) The licence is valid from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2024. The authorized uses must therefore be completed by that date.

(3) The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. For other countries, it is the law of the country that applies.

(4) The applicant undertakes to pay the sum of $10.00 to anybody who establishes, before July 31, 2029, ownership of the copyright in the work covered in this licence.

(5) The copyright owner can terminate the licence by presenting a written notice to this effect to the applicant. The applicant will cease using the work for the uses granted in this licence, no later than 30 days after the receipt of the notice. The copyright owner who terminates the licence is still entitled to the royalties described in paragraph (4).

- 2 - (6) The coming into force of this licence is conditional on the licensee filing with the Board an undertaking to comply with the conditions set out in paragraph (4) above.
