UNLOCATABLE COPYRIGHT OWNER FILE 2023-UO/TI-12 Ottawa, June 20, 2023 Non-exclusive licence issued to The Pictou Bee Press, Pictou, Nova Scotia, authorizing the adaptation, reproduction and sale of the design of a commemorative medal
Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board grants a licence to The Pictou Bee Press as follows:
The licence authorizes the adaptation, reproduction and sale of the design of a commemorative sports medal commissioned in 1923 by the Scottish Pioneers’ Association of Pictou County.
The licence authorizes 500 copies. The issuance of the licence does not release the licensee from the obligation to obtain permission for any other use not covered by this licence.
The licence is valid from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2025. The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. For other countries, it is the law of that country that applies.
The licensee will pay royalties amounting to 10% of gross revenues received by the licensee, to anybody who establishes, before June 30, 2030, ownership of the copyright in the work covered in this license.
The copyright owner can terminate the licence by presenting a written notice to this effect to the licensee. The licensee will cease using the work for the uses granted in this licence, no later than 30 days after the receipt of the notice. The copyright owner who terminates the licence is still entitled to the royalties described in paragraph (7).
The coming into force of this licence is conditional on the licensee filing with the Board a Notice of Undertaking to comply with the conditions set out in paragraph (7) above.
