NOTICE OF THE BOARD
Matters: Commercial Television Tariffs (2015-2027) and CBC Television Tariffs (2015-2025)
September 25, 2024
I. Context
[1] A case management conference (“CMC”) was held on July 3, 2024.
[2] The next CMC is set to be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
II. Case management conference
[3] On September 6, 2024, CBC provided a joint update to the Board on settlement negotiations for SOCAN Tariff 2.D, as requested by Board Order CB-CDA 2024-054.
[4] The parties informed me that they will continue to attempt to reach a settlement, but suggested that I consider setting a schedule for the initial steps in the Tariff 2.D proceeding, which could include filing a joint statement of issues in late January 2025, with further steps to be scheduled thereafter.
[5] Based on the foregoing, SOCAN Tariff 2.D will be the subject-matter of a distinct case management conference involving only SOCAN and CBC. Parties will be consulted shortly to set a date.
[6] The CMC’s agenda is adjusted accordingly (see Annex A).
[7] I expect that parties are preparing to speak to the points identified in Order CB-CDA 2024-054, notably, in relation to the reproduction tariffs, which require more active exchanges.
[8] I also remind parties to provide me with a proposed schedule of proceedings prior to the CMC.
René Côté
Case Manager
